Did you make an error in your checkbook? “Bounce Relief” is designed to assist you should you have an inadvertent overdraft. Here's how it works.
"Bounce Relief" is available on eligible personal checking account types in pre-set limits. The account must maintain a positive balance at least one day during every 30-day period to continue "Bounce Relief" privileges. The bank will notify you by mail of your overdrawn debit(s) presented for payment, and overdraft fee(s) that have been assessed. 20-day letters will be mailed to remind you the amount of overdrafts, which includes First National's normal overdraft handling fees. With Bounce Relief, you pay nothing for the service unless you use it.
A $25.00 per item fee will be assessed for each overdraft created by check, in-person withdrawal, ATM withdrawal or other electronic means with a maximum fee of $125 per day. A $30.00 per item fee will be assessed for each check, in-person withdrawal, ATM withdrawal or other electronic item that is returned unpaid with a maximum fee of $150 per day. Your account will not be charged an overdraft fee if the resulting overdraft does not exceed -$5.00. A continued overdraft fee of $2.00 per day will be assessed when your account has been overdrawn for 5 consecutive days. Fees charged for covering overdrafts, as well as the amount of the overdraft item, will be subtracted from any Bounce Relief limit disclosed. Whether your overdrafts will be paid is discretionary and we reserve the right not to pay. For example, we may not pay overdrafts if your account is not in good standing, or you are not making regular deposits, or you have too many overdrafts.
